DROPOUT PREVENTION & RECOVERY

VERMONT

Vermont has reported the National Governors Association’s cohort graduation rate since 2006. Furthermore, it includes this rate within the state’s accountability system. In 2009, the state's education commissioner established a uniform and standard definition and calculation of dropout rates.

The compulsory attendance age is 16. The state does not mandate a maximum public school entitlement age; instead, it is left up to local districts to set their own.
