DROPOUT PREVENTION & RECOVERY

WEST VIRGINIA

Over the last eight years, West Virginia has not enacted dropout policies related to the development of any programmatic initiatives.  In 2008, West Virginia passed legislation to revoke the driver’s licenses of dropouts between the ages of 15 and 18.

West Virginia will begin to report the National Governors Association’s graduation rate beginning in 2012. Its compulsory attendance age remains at 16. West Virginia sets the maximum public school entitlement age at 21.
