ALTERNATIVE EDUCATION

DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA

Students eligible for alternative education programs include students who are likely to be expelled or have been suspended, are academically at risk, or have been subject to repeated disciplinary actions due to behavioral problems.

The District of Columbia uses weighted student funding so that alternative schools receive additional dollars per high school student.
