ALTERNATIVE EDUCATION

WISCONSIN

Wisconsin law states that alternative programs are for students at risk. These could include students with truancy, delinquency, behavioral problems, drug use, family programs, academic failure, too few credits, poor attendance, criminal behavior, social and emotional issues, or medical problems.

The state gives guidelines to districts on how alternative programs might be structured, what types of students are served, how students are selected, how their performance should be reported, and how programs are funded.
